Bachelor of Social Work; Masters of Social Work Counselling
Alyssa is an Australian-trained social worker. Alyssa completed her bachelor of Social Work at the University of Sydney. She subsequently completed her Masters of Social Work Counselling at the University of New South Wales where she continues to work on a casual basis as a tutor within the undergraduate social work program. Alyssa is trained in providing Family Therapy interventions, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Solutions Focused therapy, Trauma therapy and Mindfulness interventions. As part of her master’s degree, Alyssa completed a research thesis focused on family therapy interventions for problematic substance use, which has since been published.
Alyssa has over 10 years of experience working across a wide spectrum of ages and contexts. Alyssa’s warmth and relational style is complemented by her strengths-based approach to therapy. Alyssa has expertise in working with a wide range of issues including depression, anxiety, trauma, domestic violence, addictions, parenting difficulties, eating disorders and child behavioural difficulties. She is experienced in the telehealth environment. Alyssa enjoys working with children, adolescents, adults, couples and families. She is passionate about taking a holistic and family centred approach to support people through difficulties.
Outside of work, Alyssa enjoys spending time with family and friends. She also loves getting outside and going for walks.
