Dr Shorrock is a child and adolescent psychiatrist whose career has taken him across much of Australia—though Tasmania and the Northern Territory remain on his to-visit list. After completing postgraduate medical studies at the University of Queensland, he gained formative experience in critical care medicine, anaesthetics, emergency, and intensive care before finding his calling in psychiatry.

His specialist training began on the Central Coast more than a decade ago, where he undertook basic psychiatry training before focusing on child and adolescent psychiatry at Westmead Children’s Hospital. He went on to refine his skills at Coral Tree Family Service, where he developed a strong grounding in family-focused therapeutic approaches, before returning to the Central Coast to complete advanced training—bringing his journey full circle.

Over the years, Dr Shorrock has worked across child and adolescent mental health services nationwide, shaping a broad and balanced perspective on the challenges young people face. Today, he divides his time between telehealth practice, a regional New South Wales clinic, and a personal reforestation project on his five-acre property. With the enthusiastic help of his wolfhound and bull arab—whose digging efforts are as ambitious as they are uninvited—he is cultivating a space that reflects both his commitment to the environment and his deep connection to nature.
