ADHD Assessments

What does my ADHD assessment include?

Two video telehealth sessions with an ADHD psychiatrist or paediatrician: 50–60 min first consult and 30 min follow-up

Personalised online ADHD assessment pack

ADHD Resource Pack — Pandion Health guides, checklists, tools and resources

eScripts sent direct to your mobile when medication is prescribed

Optional 30-min discovery call with an accredited ADHD coach

Every person’s history is unique. If symptoms are complex or there are significant co-occurring concerns, we may recommend additional appointments to ensure your assessment is thorough and appropriate. Our clinicians will discuss this openly with you.

ADHD Assessment — Psychiatrist

Adults, children and teens

Psychiatrists typically assess patients aged 12+. For younger children, a paediatrician assessment is usually recommended. Our team will match you with the right clinician at booking.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a GP referral to claim the Medicare rebate?
Yes. To claim a Medicare rebate on psychiatrist or paediatrician appointments, you will need a valid GP referral. Referrals are typically valid for 12 months and can be arranged through a standard GP appointment. If you don’t have a referral yet, we recommend requesting one before booking.
How long does the full ADHD assessment process take?
Most assessments are completed across two appointments within 2–4 weeks. Your first appointment (50–60 minutes) involves a comprehensive clinical interview. Between sessions you’ll complete the personalised assessment pack. The second appointment (30 minutes) covers results, diagnosis, and a treatment plan. You’ll typically see a specialist within 1–2 weeks of booking.
Can I claim through private health insurance?
Some private health insurers offer rebates for psychiatrist and psychology appointments depending on your level of cover. We recommend contacting your insurer to check your entitlements. We provide all necessary documentation and invoices for you to submit a claim.
What happens after my ADHD assessment?
After your assessment, you’ll receive a comprehensive ADHD report, a personalised resource pack, and — if medication is recommended — eScripts sent directly to your phone. From there, you can continue with ongoing specialist care through Pandion Health, including regular review appointments and access to ADHD coaching.
I’ve already been assessed elsewhere. Can Pandion take over my care?
Yes. Our Take Over Care service is for patients who have an existing ADHD diagnosis and documentation from a psychiatrist or paediatrician. This is a single appointment where our specialist reviews your history and establishes ongoing care with Pandion Health. See Take Over Care pricing above.
