ADHD assessment and treatment
Bithul is a consultant general adult psychiatrist who assesses and treats ADHD in adults by telehealth, from the first assessment through to ongoing medication review and management.
ADHD is rarely the only thing present. Anxiety, depression, obsessive compulsive difficulties, sleep disturbance and trauma either sit alongside it or account for the symptoms outright, and separating them is the substance of the assessment rather than a formality. At Pandion these are screened as standard rather than treated as an optional extra. Where ADHD is not the right answer, the person is told clearly and given a sense of what to do next.
His other clinical interests are useful here rather than incidental to it. Obsessive compulsive disorder and mood disorders are two of the presentations most often confused with ADHD, or found sitting alongside it, and a psychiatrist who knows both well is better placed to tell them apart than one who works with ADHD alone.
He also integrates clinical management with psychotherapy, so treatment after a diagnosis is not confined to medication.
Other clinical interests
Bithul’s expertise spans the lifespan. Alongside ADHD, he works in general adult psychiatry, obsessive compulsive disorder, mood disorders, perinatal mental health, and psychiatric care for older adults.
Background and training
Bithul is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists. He completed his initial psychiatric training in India in 2015, and achieved Australian Fellowship in 2022.
He works across both the public and private sectors alongside his work with Pandion Health.
