Dr Payal Sharma Kamath is a Consultant Psychiatrist with an MBBS, MD in Psychiatry, and Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP). She brings over a decade of experience in mental health care and has worked extensively across adult, child, and adolescent mental health settings.

After several years practising as a Consultant Psychiatrist overseas, Payal moved to Australia, where she completed specialist training and has worked across a range of public mental health services in the Northern Territory.

Payal is known for her warm, collaborative, and patient-centred approach. She focuses on building strong therapeutic relationships and works closely with individuals to develop practical, evidence-based treatment plans tailored to their needs.

Her clinical interests include neurodevelopmental disorders, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, women’s mental health, and emotional wellbeing across the lifespan.

Outside of work, Payal enjoys spending time with her family, travelling, exploring new places, and staying active. She values balance, curiosity, and lifelong learning, and brings a calm, approachable, and down-to-earth style to her clinical practice.
