Brendan is an Australian-trained psychiatrist, subspecialising in child and adolescent, adult, and forensic psychiatry. He completed his medical degree at the University of Newcastle and went on to pursue psychiatry training in Sydney at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Concord Centre for Mental Health, The Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network and the Justice Health and Forensic Mental Health Network. He undertook additional training in the California Department of State Hospitals. He has experience working in metropolitan, regional and remote settings, mostly in NSW and the Northern Territory, and is experienced in the telehealth environment. He regularly completes medicolegal assessments.
Brendan combines comprehensive assessment and evidence-based treatment to help a range of difficulties and disorders. He has a deep understanding of the strengths and limitations of psychological and pharmacological approaches and tailors treatments appropriately for the individual. He assists people to find a treatment that is compatible with their lifestyle and values. His aim is for clients to reach their potential and break through barriers holding them back.
Brendan is a Kiwi but now calls Australia home, despite remaining loyal to the All Blacks. He appreciates the vast landscapes of Australia and observing the resilience of diverse people throughout the country. He enjoys the ocean, keeping fit and a morning coffee with friends.
