Pandion Health connects you with clinical and general psychologists, registered counsellors, social workers and creative arts therapists, all working online, anywhere in Australia. Every clinician is registered with Ahpra or their relevant professional body.
Our therapists work with anxiety, trauma, ADHD, autism, parenting and the ordinary difficulty of a hard stretch of life. We also provide psychological assessment for ADHD, autism, learning difficulties and cognitive function, for children, adolescents and adults.
We match each person to a clinician based on what they need, their age and their preferences, and some therapists can be booked directly.

Psychological assessment for ADHD, autism, learning difficulties and cognitive function
Our psychologists provide formal psychological assessment for children, adolescents and adults, covering:
- ADHD — attention, impulse control, executive function and how they affect daily functioning
- Autism — as part of a multidisciplinary assessment
- Learning difficulties — reading, writing, spelling and mathematics, including specific learning disorders
- Cognitive function — intellectual profile, working memory, processing speed and reasoning
Reports are prepared to a standard suitable for schools, universities, workplaces, the NDIS and, where relevant, legal settings.
Psychological assessment answers a different question from a medical ADHD assessment. It measures cognitive strengths and difficulties, learning profile, and how a person processes information, which is the detail that explains why school or work is hard rather than only that it is hard.
That detail matters most where there is a question of a learning difficulty alongside ADHD, where a school or workplace needs evidence to fund accommodations, or where an earlier assessment did not settle the picture.
Where medication is being considered, a diagnostic assessment by a psychiatrist or paediatrician is required. Our psychologists work alongside those clinicians rather than in place of them, and the two assessments are often done together. If you are not sure which you need, get in touch and we’ll work it out with you.

How online therapy works
Getting started
You can book directly with some therapists, or contact us and we’ll match you to a clinician based on what you’re bringing, your age and your preferences. A referral is not required to see a psychologist privately, though one is needed for Medicare rebates.
The first session
An initial consultation by secure video, where the therapist takes a history, understands what you want from therapy, and sets out how they’d approach it. You should leave with a sense of whether this is the right clinician for you.
Ongoing sessions
Your therapist builds an approach around your goals rather than applying a fixed programme. How long therapy runs varies, and is reviewed with you as you go.
Reports and assessments
Some clinicians provide reports for schools, the NDIS or legal settings. Ask when you book, since not every therapist offers this.
Cost and Medicare
Pandion Health is a private practice. Where you have a Mental Health Treatment Plan from your GP, Medicare rebates are available for sessions with our psychologists, which reduces the out-of-pocket cost. Your GP can prepare a plan and advise how many rebated sessions you’re entitled to.
Not every clinician type attracts a rebate. Sessions with counsellors and creative arts therapists are generally not covered by Medicare. Current fees and which rebates apply are set out on our pricing page, and our team can tell you what a particular clinician will cost before you book.
Our therapists
The team includes clinical and general psychologists, registered counsellors and social workers, neurodiversity-affirming and trauma-informed therapists, and creative arts practitioners including art therapists and dramatherapists. All are registered with Ahpra or their relevant professional body.
You can read about each clinician on our team page, or contact us for help finding the right match.

Frequently asked questions
Can I see a psychologist online in Australia?
Yes. Telehealth therapy is available nationwide and is effective for most presentations. All sessions are held by secure video.
Do I need a referral to see a psychologist?
Not to book privately. You do need a Mental Health Treatment Plan from your GP for Medicare rebates to apply.
Can a psychologist diagnose ADHD?
A psychological assessment can identify ADHD and map the cognitive and learning profile alongside it. Where medication is being considered, a diagnostic assessment by a psychiatrist or paediatrician is required, and our psychologists work alongside those clinicians. See online ADHD assessment for the medical pathway.
Do you offer psychological assessments?
Yes, for ADHD, autism, cognitive strengths and difficulties, and learning and educational concerns. Some clinicians also prepare reports for schools, the NDIS or legal settings.
What’s the difference between a psychologist and a counsellor?
Psychologists are trained to assess, diagnose and treat mental health conditions, and are registered with Ahpra. Counsellors and social workers generally focus on talk therapy, emotional support and life transitions. Both can be the right choice depending on what you need, though only psychologist sessions ordinarily attract a Medicare rebate.
How much does therapy cost?
Current fees and the rebates that apply are on our pricing page. Our team can confirm what a specific clinician costs before you book.
Can I choose my therapist?
Yes. Some therapists can be booked directly, or contact us and we’ll match you based on your goals, what you’re presenting with, and your preferences.
Can I see a therapist and a psychiatrist at the same time?
Yes, and it’s common. Therapy and medical treatment address different parts of the picture, and having both under one service means your clinicians can work from the same information rather than in isolation.
